The art of languages is one so unique to every country, culture, society, and to the individual that it has been a real treat to be able to study it, learn it, and live it ! Its perfection can only be matched by simply being able to appreciate it without necessarily finding its definition or translation, but really knowing the feeling behind it .
From the list :
20 Awesomely Untranslatable Words from Around the World
I have a particular affection for :
Cafuné Brazilian Portuguese – “The act of tenderly running one’s fingers through someone’s hair.”
Wabi-Sabi Japanese – Much has been written on this Japanese concept, but in a sentence, one might be able to understand it as “a way of living that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay.”
Starting new classes in a somewhat different language, I am looking forward to continuing to explore this art and following it ... through books, music, and travels.
